For whatever they are worth,
these words
rub shoulders with
my dhobi list,
chicken recipes,
and all the sundry household stuff.

 Fifty years have gone by
doing dhobi lists,
recipes,
kitchen accounts,
and I don’t know how
this urge to write
ever sprouted.

SNEH DHILLON is the Founder President of Arpan, an NGO working to educate basti children. Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, poet, painter, bonsai artist and aesthete with a keen sense of design and colour, Sneh Dhillon is all this and more.

NIYATI SINGH is a researcher working on issues of access to justice at TATA Trusts. In her spare time, she tries to be artistic, and talk to stray dogs — though never simultaneously.
